Getting There
The wedding will take place in and around Biarritz and there are many transport links possible. We hope that many of you will travel to the region a few days before / after the wedding and take the opportunity to visit this exciting region. However, if your schedule doesn’t allow this, please note that the wedding ceremony will start mid afternoon on September 6th so we suggest to not arrive later than late morning on Saturday!
By Car
Biarritz lies next to the major motorway connecting Bordeaux to San Sebastian. It is just over 1,000 km from either Basel or Brussels (approximately 11 hour drive). If you travel by car, we recommend you book accommodation that has parking or look for a nearby parking. Biarritz has limited parking available in the city centre but good options around the city.

By Plane
There are 3 international airports you could fly to:

Biarritz International Airport (BIQ)
Small airport but served by multiple flights per week from various destinations including direct flights from Belgium (Brussels Charleroi), France (Paris, Lyon), UK (London, Edinburgh) and Switzerland (Basel, Geneva, Zurich). It is a short (10-15 min ride) from the airport to the centre of Biarritz and car rental facilities are available at the airport.
For our guests coming from Belgium:
There are direct flights from Brussels Charleroi to Biarritz on Wednesday September 3rd 2025 and Friday September 5th 2025. There is also a direct return flight to Brussels Charleroi on Sunday September 7th in the evening. These can be booked directly on skyscanner.com or Ryanair.com.
For our guests coming from Switzerland:
There are no direct flights from Basel but connecting flights via Paris (CDG) will take approximately 4 hours in total. These are available on multiple days.
There is a direct flight from Zurich on Wednesday September 3rd 2025. Other travel days offer connecting journeys that take approximately 4-5 hours.
For all other destinations – please use Skyscanner to check the best journey.
San Sebastian International Airport (EAS)
Another small airport approximately 45 min drive from Biarritz with good car rental facilities. A taxi from the airport to Biarritz will cost you approximately 70 euros. Direct flights from London, Edinburgh and various Spanish destinations – potentially a good option for those with a connecting flight in Spain.
Bordeaux International Airport (BOD)
Larger international airport approximately 2 hours drive from Biarritz or possible to connect by train. Please note you’ll need to take a bus or taxi to connect to Bordeaux train station. Good car rental facilities available at the airport.
By Train or Bus
Biarritz is served by a high-speed train service from Paris Montparnasse via Bordeaux direct. It is also possible to connect from Belgium or London via Paris and travel by train. From Brussels the journey takes approximately 7 hours. From London it would be closer to 8 hours.
You can use www.thetrainline.com to look search for train options and buy tickets directly there or use the national train service of your respective country such as www.nmbs.be for Belgium or www.sbb.ch for Switzerland.

There are overnight direct buses from Belgium or Switzerland to Biarritz. It takes approximately 15 hours on the direct bus. We don’t recommend travel by bus from Switzerland as it takes more than 20 hours and we need you on full energy!
Have a look at https://global.flixbus.com/ for more options and tickets.
