In between the first and second COVID-lockdown in August 2020, a Hinge (online dating) profile with a beautiful smile and skiing picture caught Wim's attention. Pauline, hesitant at first, followed her friends advice (thank you Laura & Michael) and agreed to go on a date with this Belgian guy who seemed to have a lot in common!

That first date was a cheap one thanks to the British Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme but a glass of champagne and tapas were definitely a good start. The story of our second date was even more spectacular and involves a very eager Uber driver, shisha after midnight, a certain level of nausea but also a first kiss. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), London soon thereafter went into lockdown again. Pauline lived in Putney (south London), Wim was up in North London, and it quickly became obvious that lockdown was way more fun when we were together. Co-working, spending evenings together - things evolved quickly before we even got to know each other friends!

Just four months into our story, we pulled off the ultimate escape and jetted off to the Maldives for a dream holiday, dodging a pandemic for 10 days, surrounded by turtles and manta rays. Wim passed the Rigaudy ski test that same winter with flying colours. When London finally reopened and it became clear that we also liked each other friends and social life, we both started realising this could be the start of a very good thing!

Fast forward four years and things have certainly evolved from there!  We now have a beautiful daughter, Emilia, who keeps us busy but provides us with so much joy, and we swapped London for Zug (Switzerland) in the summer of 2022. There is much more to tell and I'm sure we'll get to share more of it with you in Biarritz and continue writing our story together with all of you going forward!
